Built in 2000 by three generations of Wheelers our cabin was a dream come true.  Since the mid 1950's Grandpa Wheeler had been visiting the region bringing his 3 sons to fish, hunt, canoe and hike in the central highlands.  The natural beauty of the area, hiking Gulf Hagas and climbing Katahdin have become regular annual family traditions. 

 John purchased the property in 1998 hoping to keep the family tradition alive to pass down to his grandchildren as is his father before him had done.  The cabin took 4 years to build and was constructed from timber cut from the land and milled on the property by a portable saw mill. 

In 2004,  the 40 " fireplace was re-stoned with local field stones by a local stone mason that continues to work on the stone walls and the surrounding lanscape.  While tradesman and artists have bartered their time and labor to make the place special for all. 

Our greatest joy comes from sharing our knowledge and love of the surrounding area with others and we are sure a great time will be had by all.
